Hi, new to this forum, but been in the speed scene a very long time. I was unfortunate enough to blow my 1600 x-flow fitted to my Formula Ford in France earlier this year and have decided to change tack by fitting the latest version of the 2 litre Zetec Black top. Being restricted in space I decided to fit an adapter as used by the stock car guys and use my original 32/36dgv5a carb, which bolts straight on perfectly, thus saving having to modify all the throttle linkage, piping etc. I would have liked to used 40/45s but dont want to start cutting tubes to get them in. I could however get a single twin choke side draft in if required if I had a suitable manifold. I have changed the mains and air jets to the same as would be fitted to a 2 litre Pinto DOHC. I have not as yet had the engine running as I am still waiting for a Megajolt system to arrive. The motor is stock apart from a lightened flywheel and tubular exhaust. As an after thought, could I utilise a 40 dfav syncronous carb I have. Would appreciate any thoughts. The car will only be used for sprinting and speed hill-climbing in the UK and France. |
