Hello, I have two 40 DCNF 12 Webers from the early 70's and I'm looking for replacement parts for it. These carbs have been sitting on my garaged auto for the past 3 years and the starter valves have seized causing the small brass tabs to break off the little choke control shaft gears. I live stateside and have contacted Weber North America and I'm being told that parts are no longer available. I have seen on the web that new DCNF's are being build and available in the UK and notice that choke control housing has the control shafts pressed into the housing rather than using the nut to hold one in place. it also looks to be the same shape housing. My question is: Can you use the newer DCNF style choke controller on the older DCNF? If so, how would one get that part? If not has anyone found replacement parts for the choke control gears that move the starter valves up and down when pulling the manual choke?
You would think that this is a common issue with these carbs, but I could be wrong...
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide to me.

i would free up the pistons first that operate the choke. if they do not free up, and they are in the closed position, then thats ok. Its if they are open there is a problem. I think the new pieces from the later carbs will work.
We may be able to supply as we have more suppliers than just Weber North America. Give me an email. jim@overseas-auto.com _________________ Jim Hilton
